Accel PT’s Fall Update

We were proud to celebrate National Physical Therapy Month (NPTM) in October! The goal of NPTM is to raise awareness of the role that PTs and physical therapy assistants play in helping individuals and patients find relief from pain, improve mobility and overall functional ability, as well as live overall healthier lives.

National Physical Therapy Month was established in 1981 by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). On the APTA website, the stated purpose of the month-long campaign is to recognize the physical therapy profession’s efforts to ‘transform society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience.’

As you may have seen on our social media accounts, we featured quotes from the team here at Accel PT (on physical therapy and what the profession means to us). If you missed them, here are the words from Scott and Hillary!

Scott:

What does it mean for you to be a physical therapist? >> To me, being a physical therapist means making a difference in somebody’s quality of life. Pain and injury can affect people both physically and emotionally. Having the ability to change that is a powerful tool.

What is your favorite part about your job? >> Seeing what I think and feel might be a small change in a patient’s progress have such a meaningful impact on their daily quality of life. Seeing the smile, change in demeanor, and hearing the words “thank you for helping me.”

Hillary:

“Every single day I go to work, I know I am spending my time helping other people become their best physical selves. I have the opportunity to connect with and inspire my patients. I use my knowledge, experience, and expertise to help them return to the activities that they love and miss. I make a difference not only in my patients’ lives, but I positively affect the lives of those around them who no longer will have to worry about their loved one suffering in pain. I love my job! I love the opportunities it gives me to meet new people and form a positive community. My job encourages me to continually grow and expand my knowledge so I can better help my patients. I love being a physical therapist at Accel PT and I can’t imagine a better way to serve my community.”
