October is National Physical Therapy Month!

Did you know, October is National Physical Therapy month? This month we recognize the importance of physical therapy in healthcare. The profession of Physical Therapy was developed in the early 1900’s to help people recover from polio and soldiers returning from WWI.  It has evolved quite a bit to what it is today, and physical therapists can help the human body in many ways.

Physical therapists are educated in human movement and can diagnose/treat people of all ages.  Physical therapists are specialist in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal injuries.  We work with individuals who are recovering from bodily injury, surgery, concussion, headaches, TMJ, balance issues, vertigo to name a few; or people that would like to become healthier and to prevent future issues and injury. A Physical therapist’s goal is to improve quality of life through hands on care, patient education, and a personalized exercise program.

This month, we celebrate physical therapists and physical therapist assistants and their role in keeping our communities healthy and moving!
